It is said the three most important features of a property are Location, Location and Location. This holds absolutely true for this home - location means ideal weather, abundant recreational opportunities, and urban comfort in a serene, rural setting, all just miles from “America’s Finest City” with over 100 golf courses.
But here on Eagle Mountain you also get Views, Views and Views.
Views when you’re washing dishes, reading a book, watching TV, entertaining. Views of the sunrise, the sunset, fog creeping in, storms roaring by, blue sky, night sky, “city” lights, hillsides, water, and trees. Views every minute of every day from every window in every room in every season.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, there is the wildlife. Hawks floating on the wind currents; coyotes howling at dusk; raccoons peeking through windows at night; horses galloping in the fields below; a peacock calling out at dawn.
The house is wonderful for entertaining – open and fluid with a separate guest/children’s wing. The fireplace is not only the centerpiece, but it puts out enough heat to warm the entire house. The living room is walls of windows, built-in bookshelves, and a beamed ceiling 20 feet high. The office and master bedroom are extra large with incredible views. The “his/her” master bath has everything - 2 toilets, 2 sinks w/2 sets of cabinets, a steam shower and a Jacuzzi tub. There is a large kitchen pantry, an indoor laundry, a walk-in master closet, and throughout the house, lots and lots and lots of closets. The guesthouse is perfect for teenagers, or an office, or an in-law, or a live-in, or even a guest (hence the name “Guesthouse”). And everywhere, inside and out, are electrical outlets and phone jacks.
Outside, the pool/hot tub combo is a favorite of all our visitors. The covered Lanai is ideal for outside dining, winter, spring, summer, or fall. The Pool Deck/BBQ area is perfect for entertaining large groups. The front deck is the best place to enjoy your morning coffee and paper, or your evening sunset and conversation.
Steps away are a fresh herb garden and an organic vegetable garden (both with automated irrigation) large enough to grow anything and everything you want year round. And in the family orchard, you can reach up and pick an orange or grapefruit or lime or peach or lemon or cumquat or plum or apricot. And, of course, there are the avocados - over 300 mature Hass avocado trees not only contribute to the ambience, but produce an average harvest of 45,000 pounds a year.
There is a real sense of privacy and quiet on the property, but it’s actually only a couple miles from I-15, a few miles from Bonsall (post office, grocery, vet, restaurants, movie theater, golf course resort, etc.), 15 miles/20 minutes from Oceanside or Vista or Escondido, and about 40 miles/45 minutes from downtown San Diego. The Wild Animal Park, the Zoo, Sea World, the ocean, the dessert, the mountains, and of course golf courses galore, are all only 5-45 minutes away!
It’s Paradise.
